Sanctions and Shipping – Where are we now?

Introduction:

Sanctions continue to have a real impact on those operating in and around the shipping industry. The regulations remain fast-changing but directly relevant to the day-to-day business of international trade and the carriage of goods by sea. With a continuing focus on Iran and Russia, two speakers will discuss the latest developments and practical impact of sanctions on the shipping sector from both the legal and P&I perspectives.

The Issues for discussion include:

– focus on the impact in the shipping sector of sanctions on Russia
– the latest sanctions developments in Iran
– the practical application of sanctions in the P&I context and the role of the International Group
– how the clubs identify and manage claims involving sanctions issues
