Current Issues in Arbitration

Introduction:
Arbitration remains a popular and effective dispute resolution mechanism for maritime and commercial disputes. In this seminar, chaired by Mr Justice Hamblen, consideration will be given to a number of topical issues currently facing parties who choose to arbitrate in London.  The event will also feature an overview of the London arbitration scene to be delivered by the President of the LMAA.

The issues for discussion include:

–  Multi-tiered dispute resolution Agreements
–  Appeals of arbitration Awards under Sections 67 & 68 of the Arbitration Act 1996
–  Costs in arbitration – issues arising when costs are incurred in-house
