When there is a force for change, there is no going back!  As was analysed and predicted during this event, the Woolf Civil Justice Reform brought fundamental changes – inter-alia- in disclosure procedures, expert evidence and cost management.

The innovation of case management introduced flexibility and – by focussing litigants’ attention on the issues – has had the effect of increasing the settlement of disputes which, unwittingly, has reduced the development of maritime law for the sake of saving legal costs.  A ‘double-edged sword’! What a price to be paid!
