LSLC’s Chairman welcomes the appointment of new Council members

At LSLC’s AGM held on 4th April, members voted to appoint 12 new members to the Council.

Dr Aleka Sheppard, LSLC’s Founder and Chairman, welcomed these new appointees and expressed her optimism that their respective skills and contributions and those from the existing Council members will give the Centre a fillip to achieve further appeal and success in its long-term vision and objectives.

The new appointees are:
Nigel Carden – Thomas Miller P & I Ltd.
James Clanchy – LMAA Hon. Secretary
Martin Hall – Clyde & Co.
Damian Hickman – IDRC
Robert Hill – Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers
Chirag Karia QC – Quadrant Chambers
Ursula O’Donnell – The Standard Club
Sherina Petit – Norton Rose Fulbright LLP (to alternate with Philip Roche)
David Pitlarge – Hill Dickinson LLP
Philip Roche – Norton Rose Fulbright (to alternate with Sherina Petit)
Garry Stevens – The London P & I Club
Nick Webb – Stolt-Nielsen

These new Council appointees are in addition to the February 23rd appointment of three new Directors to LSLC’s Governing body namely:

Vasanti Selvaratnam QC – 36 Stone
George Eddings – Consultant
Ian Woods – Partner, Clyde & Co.

Les Chapman – The Hon. Company of Master Mariners – was re-appointed as a Director.
